40 x 30″ – 2017
Eye of the Storm is an intuitive painting that emerged from moving paint and other materials around my canvas. I quieted and limited my palette when creating this work to avoid a cacophony of color. My goal was to create a composition that depended on structure and texture with color more incidental and subtle.
Eventually, when the large metal washer was in place, and probably influenced by the ever-present summer storms in south Florida, the painting was complete. It titled itself as I entered it in a local show.
