Painting of Iguanas in my backyard done in 2020 – 22 x 30″
“NIMBY!” represents my frustration with my back yard being overrun with iguanas, a species not native to Florida. They have destroyed my native plants, and cluttered my yard. I marvel that years ago I traveled to the Galapagos Islands to observe marine iguanas and other wildlife, so using a drawing from my trip sketchbook, I created an image to show my crowded back yard on the bank of the canal. Living creatures or not, they are not welcome here.
