Which Way Is Out?

I love to use stencils, stamps, printing in my mixed media pieces. This work started with a stencil I had cut from a piece of recycled, carry-out food Styrofoam. In it, I played with the direction of the lines, which could well be steps. I added collaged elements, this time using fabric as well as paint and paper, pushing into and away from the edges trying to find a direction. Instead I ended up with many directions, all seeming equally valid. Is it “no way out” or “every way in?” Which way do I want and need to go? Is it a game, or is it a plan? I hope this suggests that it is up to the viewer to decide.
